So, I thought I would share some books I plan to read before the year is up. None of these books are new releases or were released in 2018. I kind of use that rule when determining my “TBR Challenge” choices. Every year I try to knock off some “older” books from my to-read shelf. The buddy reads I have planned are:
To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis has been languishing on my TBR since 2015 at Goodreads. I am going to attempt this one in October with the MacHalos. Wish me luck! I have heard good things and it has an average 4.14 stars (at Goodreads).
I am a little nervous about starting this sci-fi series that began in the 80s. It has a high average rating as well, so hopefully I will like it! Attempting this one in September with the MacHalos.
After reading The Ninth Rain by Jen Williams and fangirling over it, I decided I needed to read everything by her. This one is also a MacHalo BR (in November).
Starting this month, Pippa DaCosta’s The 1000 Revolution Series. There will be more books in this series in 2019!
There are some series I have meant to continue. I don’t know why, but have put them off. Sometimes I love the first book and then am really disappointed by the second. I am not sure if that is the case with these, but I have been procrastinating. I intend to read these by the end of the year, though, dangit!
And finally, here are just some books that have been on my TBR forever and I really want to read them (or start them and DNF them just so I can get them off my to-read shelf, haha).
The Restorer has been on my TBR since 2015. I am thinking of trying the audio for this one. It is narrated by Khristine Hvam, who I have heard great things about.
I have had THIS one on my TBR since 2014. It seems like all my bookish friends love this series, but I have never tried it. I might go with the audio for this one too. It is narrated by Davina Porter who does the Outlander series (among many others).
This book has been on my TBR since 2013. It has some mixed reviews, but I’m determined to find out for myself THIS YEAR one way or the other!
What books do you plan to read this year? Are they buddy reads or are you reading all by your lonesome? Have you already any of these books? What do you think of them?
