Grumpy Book Grrrl

a writer and reader

The Last Hope, the finale in The Raging Ones duology is out NOW! Find out what happens to Franny, Mykal, and Court and their adventures in space. We were blessed to be a part of the blog tour and scored a Q&A with the authors. Thank you Wednesday Books!

QuestionWhat is up next for you?

We’ll be having a mini-celebration in the alley of a bookstore with THE LAST HOPE. Seeing this space baby on a shelf will be a dream! So if you see two twins freaking out, that’s us! As for writing, we have more adult contemporary romances planned. We love love!

QuestionWhat inspired you to write this story?

We first came up with the concept of “deathdays” – a world where everyone knows the day they’ll die but three teens don’t die on the day they’re supposed to. And we love sci-fi shows with a lot of heart and focus on characters like Battlestar Galactica and Sense8. We both wanted to write a sci-fi/fantasy romance that had three teens emotionally tied together, so whatever emotion one character feels, the other feels as well.

Question:  Will you please list a couple favorite authors and books? Thank you!

Some of our absolute favorite YA authors and novels include: Wendy Higgins and her YA paranormal romance Sweet Evil, plus Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman and their sci-fi masterpiece Illuminae. For adult contemporary romance, we love Kennedy Ryan and her Grip series.
